MAKER STORIES: SUDSY SUCCESS!
HOW I CREATED A SUCCESSFUL SIDE-BUSINESS TEACHING AT THE NOOKS
Hello! My name is Margo Stinson, Chief Soap Maker and owner of Carberry Soap.
I have managed to create another business teaching soap making classes at the Nooks. The revenue earned from these workshops has been equal and in some months better than my main business, which is making and selling soaps. Every Sunday I teach an average of 35 students who pay $25.00 each, which earns me $875 for a 2 hour class. I do have an assistant I need to pay, but I have managed to keep my cost down to $5.00 per student, supplies included.
Teaching classes is a great way to earn additional income alongside your business. And the best part? You get to choose your hours, decide how much to charge and how many classes to teach. Starting an education side-business can be as flexible as you like. You can start small (maybe one class a month) and grow as you feel comfortable. The supportive team at the Nooks have been instrumental in helping me make my secondary business a success.
If your small business isn't pulling in the income you desire, why not teach some classes to create some extra revenue? Sharing your knowledge is such a fun, rewarding experience.
